Updates on what's new!

After entering a Flickr account, I also tried making a Photo Bucket account. I had looked at some online photos of a friend's trip on Photo Bucket and thought I should try all the options. I liked the Photo Bucket better - it was easier to upload, easier to organize and best of all I didn't have to have Yahoo! account to use. I hate Yahoo! accounts. If you don't use them, they disappear. Besides, I seem to have too many accounts everywhere. I uploaded some photos, organized them into folders, cropped a few and thought about what I could do with them. I will get more. Our computer at home crashed awhile back and we only got half our photos off it. I need something like this to store photos on.

I also set up my own Portaportal account for different projects I have going on both at work and at home. I have all my links organized and can find them easily. This is really nice. Also nice for sharing links with my kids. I am going to use this often and it was VERY easy to set up and add to.

Next I have to figure out RSS feeds...

Photos? Where are the photos!

I started a new account today on Flickr by adding pictures that had been emailed to me from my sister-in-law. I hope to add some more from my home computer. I will keep you updated about how that comes about. When I get some newer photos, I will share the address with you all so you can see how it goes. Flickr seems a bit rough to use but I think I will have to practice some. It seems a lot better than Picasa which I used before in the library. That one is very hard to organize. Hopefully, I will have better luck with this one. I will keep in touch...

The creation of the new blog...

This is not the first blog I have created. Previously, I created blogs for the public library. I made an online book study for Elisa Carbone's book, Blood on the River. I typed up some discussion questions and invited others to discuss them through the blog. The only response we got during the summer was in Italian. It was relevant but it was in Italian. But it could have worked in a classroom setting with a class.
Also I set up a blog for the parenting classes at the library to inform parents about upcoming programs. This was much more sucessful but I had to keep it up. It's easy to forget about a blog so that it "rusts" in cyberspace.
This blog is the quick and easy version. But I haven't had any followers before. And there are new gadgets to play with...Let see what happens!

First Visit of Learning 2.0: Way back before Thanksgiving...

On November 17th, we started the process of Learning 2.0 with a horrible powerpoint I had made. Actually, it was a great, stupendous powerpoint with embedded links and Senteo clicker questions but I, unfortunately, didn't use that version on the computer but the previous unedited version with random flashes of light. No way could anyone read any of it. Bother... But I was able to get online and hear the podcast and read what we will be doing as did the rest of the class before Don Toms pulled me away to fix a Moviemaker presentation (with Emily's help!). So far so good!
